Our Approach
This 10 week course will provide you with Carpentry and Joinery qualifications. This qualification allows you to for a CSCS Blue Skilled Worker card (once a CSCS test is undertaken).
During the 10 weeks, you will be trained and assessed to achieve the following:
Carpentry aspects:
- Constructing studwork with opening
- Constructing and installing door linings
- Hanging a door
- Fitting floor joists and installing floor coverings
- Installing and bracing trussed rafters
- Setting out and cutting a pair of common rafters
- Health and Safety in construction
- Fixing architraves and skirtings
- Constructing and fixing hatch linings
- Fitting locks and latches
Joinery aspects:
- Constructing halving joints
- Constructing housing joints
- Constructing through mortice and tenon joints
- Constructing angled halving joints
- Constructing bridle joints
- Constructing haunched mortice and tenon joints
- Constructing stub mortice and tenon joints
Level 2 NVQ in Carpentry and Joinery
This course is endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group (UKCG) as the standard training for all supervisors working on UKCG sites. Suitable for those who have or who are about to acquire supervisory responsibilities.
Course cancellation charges:
Less than 7 days notice = 100% of course price
8 - 21 days notice = 75% of course price
over 22 days notice = No cancellation fee
